Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose (HEMC)
MikaZone® MK100ES Modified Hydroxyethyl Cellulose Ether (MHEC) is designed for use in gypsum-based mortars, especially machine spray plasters. It imparts good workability, enhances water retention, and optimizes plaster performance. MikaZone® MK100ES is compatible with a wide range of building materials. It is a delayed
dissolution type and can be mixed with liquid directly

MK100ES is a surface-treated HEMC with a faster dissolution rate, but it is relatively more expensive.
After adding HEMC to the paint, the rheological properties of the paint can be improved, making it easier to cover different surfaces. Additionally, both adhesion and stability will be enhanced, ensuring that the coating adheres firmly to the surface.
Emulsion-based plaster or putty needs proper curing and adhesion to the substrate, which is related to the moisture retention capability of the putty or plaster material. Adding HEMC can help the plaster or putty retain water.
The open time is crucial for gypsum plasters, and MikaZone 100ES can extend the open time, providing a longer working time before the material starts to set. This is particularly beneficial for large or complex construction applications.
HEMC can enhance the performance of spray plaster, making it easier to apply and achieve uniform layers.

MikaZone cellulose ether products should be stored in a dry and cool environment. The shelf time is 2 years.
In the case of high viscosity grades, a slow viscosity loss can be measured after long-term storage (> 1 year). Inthe course of use, measures must be taken to reseal to avoid moisture absorption once opened.
MikaZone cellulose ethers are classified as non-hazardous material, please refer to the (Material) Safety Data Sheet(MSDS/SDS) or contact our service team for further information on safety.
