Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose (HEMC)
MikaZone® MK200ES Modified Hydroxyethyl Cellulose Ether (MHEC) is designed for use in gypsum-based mortars, especially machine spray plasters. It imparts good workability, enhances water retention, and optimizes plaster performance. MikaZone® MK200ES is compatible with a wide range of building materials. It is a delayed dissolution type and can be mixed with liquid directly

MK200ES is a surface-treated HEMC, which, compared to untreated HEMC, has a faster dissolution rate in cold water, making it a quick-dissolving type of HEMC.
In the field of construction, coatings typically involve painting walls, ceilings, door and window frames, railings, and other parts to decorate buildings, protect surfaces from environmental damage, and extend the lifespan of the structure.
Emulsion-based plaster or putty is a material used for repairing and smoothing wall surfaces. It is a mixture of emulsion (typically latex) and fillers such as gypsum or lime. It is used to fill cracks, indentations, or uneven areas on wall surfaces to facilitate subsequent painting work.
Surface-treated HEMC dissolves more quickly and easily in both usage and dissolution, providing a certain gain in accelerating construction speed. As a thickening and dispersing agent, HEMC can enhance the flowability and viscosity of gypsum putty.
Having sufficient flowability and adhesion is crucial for spray-applied gypsum putty to ensure smooth construction. Adding the right amount of chemical additives to the putty is essential to achieve the necessary performance levels for a successful application.

MikaZone cellulose ether products should be stored in a dry and cool environment. The shelf time is 2 years.
In the case of high viscosity grades, a slow viscosity loss can be measured after long-term storage (> 1 year). Inthe course of use, measures must be taken to reseal to avoid moisture absorption once opened.
MikaZone cellulose ethers are classified as non-hazardous material, please refer to the (Material) Safety Data Sheet(MSDS/SDS) or contact our service team for further information on safety.
