MikaZone® Calcium Formate (CaFo) is a white crystalline powder known for its excellent fluidity and is commonly used as a setting accelerator in mortar. In dry-mixed mortar products like thermal insulation mortar, tile adhesive, cement-based plaster, and repair mortar, it’s essential to enhance early strength. Typically, high-alumina cement and gypsum are used as coagulants, and at low temperatures, antifreeze is also added. Calcium formate serves a dual purpose as a new type of setting accelerator, speeding up the hardening of cement, boosting early strength, and preventing the slow setting of mortar during winter or in low temperature and humidity conditions. This allows the mortar to be ready for use sooner, particularly improving its early strength.

What is the shelf life of Mikazone® cellulose ethers and re-dispersible polymer powder products?

The recommended shelf life of MikaZone® cellulose ether products is 24 months, while the recommended shelf life for MikaZone® redispersible polymer powder products is 12 months. Store these products in a cool place, keeping the container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated area.

How do you guarantee the quality of the products?

We have chemical laboratories and application laboratories to ensure the best satisfaction of each order.

1) The chemical laboratory allows us to evaluate characteristics such as viscosity, humidity, ash, pH, methyl and hydroxypropyl content, and degree of substitution.

2) The application laboratory allows us to measure open time, water retention, adhesive strength, slip resistance, sag resistance, setting time, and workability.
