Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose (HEMC)
MikaZone® MK75E Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose Ether(HEMC) is designed for use in gypsum-based mortars, especially wall putty. It imparts good workability, enhances water retention, and optimizes the plaster’s performance. MikaZone® MK75E is compatible with a wide range of building materials.

MK75E can provide excellent performance enhancement for your application.
Without the addition of HEMC, the wall putty may suffer from insufficient adhesion, poor flowability, and lack of plasticity. During construction, the lack of water retention properties could lead to difficulties as the wall putty dries out.
Gypsum plaster without the addition of HEMC or other additives may be more difficult to work with and shape as needed. The risk of cracking also increases, and during construction, issues such as poor bonding and surface defects can arise due to rapid drying.
During the construction process, mortar requires excellent water retention properties and sufficient open time. Otherwise, inadequate water retention can lead to rapid drying, prolonged curing time, and ultimately impact the overall project effectiveness and progress.

MikaZone cellulose ether products should be stored in a dry and cool environment. The shelf time is 2 years.
In the case of high viscosity grades, a slow viscosity loss can be measured after long-term storage (> 1 year). Inthe course of use, measures must be taken to reseal to avoid moisture absorption once opened.
MikaZone cellulose ethers are classified as non-hazardous material, please refer to the (Material) Safety Data Sheet(MSDS/SDS) or contact our service team for further information on safety.
