How do I determine whether to choose high viscosity or low viscosity HPMC?

Putty powder application: Low viscosity requirements, 100,000 viscosity is sufficient for use. The key is to have excellent water retention performance.
Mortar application: High viscosity requirements, it is recommended to choose high viscosity HPMC, such as a product with a viscosity of 150,000.

Is it better to select surface-modified HPMC or unmodified HPMC?

Surface-treated HPMC exhibits good initial spreadability and disperses in water without immediate dissolution. This is suitable for applications that require extended construction time, such as formulations that need to be mixed first and then dissolved later.
Untreated HPMC begins hydration immediately and is suitable for applications that do not require extended spread time.

The difference between surface-treated HPMC (PS series) and untreated (P series) HPMC?

The cold water soluble type of HPMC is HPMC treated with ethanal. It disperses rapidly in cold water but does not truly dissolve; it only dissolves when the viscosity increases.
The hot water soluble type of HPMC has not been treated with ethanal. When a large amount of ethanal is used, dispersion is quick but viscosity increase is slow; conversely, when a small amount is used, the opposite occurs.
